Hama is a well-known century-old enterprise in germany, and its business covers many fields such as computer and telecommunications. The charging head network has obtained a 45W dual-port car charger launched by hama, which supports 25W and 20W output power to meet the demand of charging two mobile phones at the same time. Let's take a look at the interior design and materials.

Charging and disassembling of hama 45W fast charging vehicle

After seeing the appearance and output test of the hama car charger, let's disassemble it and take a look at the internal design and materials.

First, pry off the shell at the charging output side along the seam to expose the internal PCBA module, which is coated with thermal conductive adhesive for fixing and heat conduction.

The housing is provided with two USB-C interfaces and indicator light openings.

Use the cutter to cut the shell and take out the internal PCBA module.

The vehicle-filled PCBA module is coated with gray thermal conductive adhesive, which is used to fix components and play a role in heat dissipation.

The car charging PCBA module is composed of a long strip PCB and a small PCB by welding, and the two PCBs are connected by pins.

The heat conduction pad is pasted on the back of the PCBA module to enhance the heat dissipation performance.

Three solid state capacitors and two step-down inductors are welded on the front of the car charging PCBA module.

A buck converter chip, a buck converter and a protocol chip are welded on the back.

In the side view, two step-down inductors are welded on both sides of the negative spring piece, and the bottom small plate is connected through the pin.

The positive spring of vehicle charging adopts copper alloy spring, and the internal silicone wire is welded to reduce the resistance and reduce the heat.

The positive input is connected with a fuse in series for overcurrent protection.

Input filter solid state capacitor is from Hunan Shengtong, with specification of 100 μ F 35V。

The USB-C port uses the synchronous step-down converter with the built-in protocol of InFocus IP6520. The chip is integrated with the step-down converter and the protocol chip. The peripheral circuit is very simple. Only 7 resistance-capacitance elements+1 inductor are needed to meet the 20W fast charging demand. It can be used for car charging, fast charging and multi-port charger, with high conversion efficiency and comprehensive protocol support. IP6520 has passed the USB PD3.0 certification, and the certification TID number is 3277.

The other step-down converter is from Chengxin Microelectronics, model CX8855. It is a step-down DC-DC converter with input withstand voltage up to 32V and can achieve accurate constant voltage and constant current. Built-in 30m Ω High-side PMOS and 20m Ω Low-side NMOS can support 3.4A continuous output current and adjustable output voltage, and can support 100% duty cycle at most.

The USB PD protocol chip uses Fuman Cloud Silicon XPD720, which has passed the USB PD3.0 certification. TID: 3479, supports QC2.0, QC3.0, AFC, FCP, SCP, HVSCP, PD, PPS and other fast charging protocols. The internal integration of 10m Ω VBUS channel power switch, and the integration of 10m Ω current detection resistance, pin support overvoltage protection, built-in complete protection functions, save the number of peripheral components and reduce costs. Adopt ESOP8 package.

FEEDDI disassembly learned that the XPD series of cloud-silicon semiconductor fast charging protocol chips have been adopted by dozens of products of multiple brands, such as Bull, Belkin, Lenovo, Nokia, Philips, Aki, Bess, Pinson, and Mormis. The sales volume of cloud-silicon semi-conductor PD protocol chips of Fuman Group in a single month has exceeded ten million by seizing the 20W PD fast charging tuyere.

FEEDDI Disassembly Summary

The 45W car of hama is designed with black body, low profile and simple. The car charger has two USB-C interfaces, with output power of 20 and 25W respectively, to meet the fast charging demand of mainstream mobile phones. The car charger is equipped with a power indicator to keep abreast of the power consumption status and is convenient to use. The vehicle charging supports PD and PPS fast charging output, and the fast charging compatibility is better.

Through disassembly, FEEDDI learned that there are two independent step-down circuits built into the car charger, one of which is the synchronous step-down SOC of IP6520, and the other is the output of Chengxin Micro CX8855 and Fuman Cloud Silicon XPD720. The input and output are both solid state capacitor filters. The magnetic ring inductor is insulated with a heat-shrinkable tube, and is glued to fix and dissipate heat. The PCBA module is pasted with a heat-conducting pad, and the internal materials and workmanship are very reliable.
